Download and installation instructions
NOTE! The installation requires Administrator rights.
Installing version 1.2.0.1 and later
Version 1.2.0.1 and later is now in a self-extracting file format:
- IMPORTANT! If you have a version prior to 1.2.0.1 installed, please un-install this version first using Windows Control Panel! Version 1.2.0.1 uses a different installer tool that does not un-install the older version properly. This extra step is only needed if a version lower than 1.2.0.1 is already installed and will not be required with later versions
- Right-click the desired "CTInstall_x.x.x.x.EXE" download link above and choose "Save as...". A file dialog appears. Select a suitable location on the local computer, e.g. the Windows Desktop and start the download
- When the download is finished; with Windows Vista, 7 and 8.x, double-click the file. With Windows XP, right-click the file and select "Run as..."
- Enter the required information for administrator rights
- After a successful installation the program can be started using the Windows start menu
If an older version of Close Talk Install is already installed; all settings and databases will be retained after an uninstall, ready for use by the new software version.
Installing older versions lower than 1.2.0.1
The installation file requires an un-zip tool such as WinZip which can be found at www.winzip.com. Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8 has a built-in unzip tool.
- Right-click the desired download link above and choose "Save as...". A file dialog appears. Choose an easy to find location such as the computer desktop, then click "Save". The download starts
- When the download is finished, right-click the "CTInstall_xxxx.zip" file on the desktop. What happens then is dependent on the type of ZIP-file extractor installed on the computer, with Windows Vista, 7 and 8 choose "Extract all", with other zip-file tools choose a similar command. All files need to be fully extracted before installing
- When the files are shown/extracted, locate a file called "Setup.exe" or just "Setup" and, on Windows Vista, 7 and 8, right-click the file and choose "Run as Administrator". On other windows systems, double-click it. DO NOT execute any other file!
- Answer "yes" to any security alerts and the software installation program starts, follow the instructions to complete the installation
- After a successful installation the program can be started using the Windows start menu
If there is an older version of Close Talk Control already installed on the computer it must be uninstalled first using the Windows Control Panel->Add/Remove Software tool. All settings and databases will be retained.
